  • Veldt Manipulation

I decided to post some stuff about the Veldt manipulation. I looked into while routing for the Glitchless category. The encounters on the Veldt aren't as random as some people might think. They are divided into "Packs" and each pack has up to 7 Monster Formations which can occur.

There are 64 Packs in total and it it moves one forward after each battle. If you haven't encountered any Formation of the next Pack, it will skip it and move forward to the next one.

If you Save and Reset, 13 will be added to the Monster Formation you're going to fight. If you're fighting in Pack 4, you should normally fight a battle out of Pack 5 after that. If you Save and Load from the Title Screen, you'll fight a battle from Pack 17.

So its possible to get specific rages faster with this. Also in a speedrun its potentially possible to skip the nasty inescapable Templar battle with that.

How do you know what set you're on exactly?

I don't know exactly how the starting pack gets determind, but in a speedrun I always seem to get the 2xTemplar/Soldier fight as the 1st encounter which is pack 52

So you can skip the Templar soldier battle?
We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.

I'd rather say that you change he encounter to a different one. You don't skip the encounter, just change the monster formation.
