  • Final Fantasy 7 PC Speedrun

Hi everyone, I'm currently trainning for FF7 SS on PC.
I post this to acces knowledge ! If anyone knows something specific to the run on PC I would be glad if you could let me know.
    Thank you all by advance.

Will you do Slots or No Slots? In general the Run is the same as the psx run, just faster. But you'd definetly have to check if the game gets slowdown, which could be due to several different things, so you don't lose any time. Also feel free to ask any question about the route.
German Final Fantasy runner and router:
FF6 Glitchless (PAL PSN) 9:08:32 (Version Record)
FF7 No Slots (PAL PSN) 11:21:07 (Version Record, very outdated)

It seems that the game doesn't run equally on every PCs, you need to make sure if your game isn't somewhat slower than the other people. Try other configurations too (fullscreen or not, etc...).

Final Fantasy VII Steam Version Settings:
        640x480 (Fullscreen)

        Open Broadcaster Software (OBS):
        30 Fps/852x480 resolution (widescreen 16:9 for splits/camera)

Game may run differently depending on hardware, and Operating System.
I had issues with slowdown, but those problems were gone when I switched to OBS.

Try disable/enable Aero Desktop if you play on Windows 7.

You should reach ~34 FPS in dungeons, ~30 FPS in world map, ~15 FPS in battles. They are capped, but if you don't even reach them there's a problem to begin with. I checked FPS with fraps.

        I hope it helps!

Well been trying for 4 hours without success... (even without the capture software I don't manage to get the same game speed as Deathtome...)
I think I've tried it all (processor thing, graphics thing, resolution, graphic card thing etc.), I don't get it so unless I have a genius idea that shall be it for my speedrun career Indeed there is no interest doing it if I can't run against WR. See you later guys with good news I hope.
