Just finished this anime the other night. I feel it was a good watch, but for some reason a lot of people don't like it. Its starts off pretty slow, but really starts to pick up once you get past the first 6 episodes or so. There's a good amount of action and fighting with magic, and some amazing fights as well. You'll have a hard time following all the spells the mages use, so don't really try to worry about those too much. The characters are pretty well rounded, and there's a large cast of them. They all grow in their own ways to develop much more as characters which is always a good thing. There's a cliche friendship theme, but its not terribly show ruining, its not like Soul Eater. Overall, I give the show a 9/10 and recommend watching it.
