The title more or less says it all. Does anyone run SMW glitchless any%? I see all these runs that use a glitch that starts in Yoshi 1 and while the glitch seems simple enough I don't want to do that. I want to play the game within the intended format and race through it as fast as possible. So again is there anyone else here doing this? Are there suggestions you might be able to offer for it?

AFAIK the only Glitchless route run by smw players is "96 Exit, All Dragon Coins/Moons" http://deanyd.net/smw/index.php?titl...on_Coins/Moons
Maybe you find some tips on that website.German Final Fantasy runner and router:
FF6 Glitchless (PAL PSN) 9:08:32 (Version Record)
FF7 No Slots (PAL PSN) 11:21:07 (Version Record, very outdated)

Creating new categories is always tedious, whether or not it gets accepted depends entirely on the community of the game and if the majority of the runners like it or not. Its always good to trade ideas with other runners of a game if you want to create a new category, so you get some feedback if its feasable or not.
Sometimesit just depend on how interesting or different the new category is from the existing ones. I don't know how much different a glitchless any% run would be from a normal any% run.German Final Fantasy runner and router:

The Orb Glitch can be used on Bowsers Castle, pretty much meaning they didn't even fight bowser.Originally posted by Wypy View PostI don't know how much different a glitchless any% run would be from a normal any% run.
But even if it was glitchless, the intended format wouldn't be used as people would use tactics that aren't glitches but just faults in the level.

thegrimm I run any% glitchless but I still have to compare my times to people who use the orb glitch. It sucks since it is impossible for me to get a very good time but it still extremely enjoyable to run!If you get at least the amount you put into it then go ahead. Otherwise I suggest you don't do it.

How big is the gap in times x10? Are we talking about minutes lost? I know that skipping a castle is a time saver but I have to wonder how much is really lost having to finish Iggy off?Last edited by thegrimm1onfire; 02-13-2014, 03:55 PM.//Grimm

as i understand it, orb glitch to skip iggy for any% only saves like 10 seconds or something overall because you have to spend the time going into YI1 to get the orb. when i started out i didnt do orb glitch because i wanted to practice all the levels first before dealing with such a frustrating glitch. there is no problem with doing orbless runs except that once your time starts to get low, the only way you will be able to compete with everyone is to do it no matter how much time you can save other places. if you were to find new strats to save more time and conceivably beat a record, people would just incorporate those new strats in with the orb and you'd be back at square one
