After a year of intense WCS competition, the standings are true and the top 16 players –seven major tournament winners plus nine based on WCS points—are now set to battle in the Global Playoffs. The eight players who make it through the double-elimination group stage will advance to the Global Finals at BlizzCon.
Proceedings will get underway with a ruthless single-elimination bracket and matches will employ a best-of-five format until the final. The eventual winner must dominate a best-of-seven series to be crowned the WCS Global Champion and earn the $200,000 prize.
