  • Leveling in WOD (Alliance POV)

This was written up and conducted with the ideas of leveling as fast as possible so we [my guild] would be able to do heroic dungeons and get geared long before raids came out.

    items to level with:
    water strider - http://wod.wowhead.com/spell=118089
this is the best mount for levelling, many shortcuts to be had.
keep in mind that if you get in combat and then try to walk on water you will sink. so if you're running across land, get in combat, out range mobs, you'll need to remount before walking on water. fine.

    salyin battle banner - http://wod.wowhead.com/item=86583
the ability to drop combat to remount is outstanding. sometimes you get stuck in combat and have no idea what is keeping you there.

    levelling banners
This item can be purchased from a Guild Vendor upon earning the guild achievement Working as a Team and reaching Friendly reputation with your guild.

This item can be purchased from a Guild Vendor. It is sold by NPCs and an achievement reward. In the Other Consumables category. Added in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

This item can be purchased from a Guild Vendor upon earning the guild achievement Guild Cataclysm Dungeon Hero and reaching Friendly reputation with your guild.

the cooldown they share is only 3 minutes, meaning that you should grab all three. don't try to use them intelligently, just macro them into your spammable spell. hour 23 of levelling you're not going to micro manage this shit.

    jeeves - or bank access
there's a lot of shitty items that you'll want to keep for level 100, but are of no interest levelling.
find a way to dump shit in your bank.

    GOBLIN GLIDER

this is haxasaurus. if you are planning on dropping engineering in wod, wait until after you level. this cuts down on so many shitty runs.

    90 Shadowmoon Valley
You'll start your garrison adventures here, don't go back there too frequently, you can waste a lot of time in there without getting much xp.

    garrison ability
    call to arms - http://wod.wowhead.com/spell=161676
summons a little army to stab for you, don't think you have a choice on this one anyways

There is one bonus objective: The hills of valuun
A level 10 Shadowmoon Valley Quest. Rewards . Added in World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor. Always up to date with the latest patch (10.2.6).

Likely worth skipping if you can't get the warpbeast kills quickly. it can be a nightmare even with only one or two people there with you.
Do the quest, it just sucks. it's still worth ~5 other quests.

    92 Gorgrond

Once you hit 92, hearth to your garrison and fly to gorkrond. Everything is pretty doable here, farm till 94.

    garrison ability:

    champion's honour - http://wod.wowhead.com/spell=164221
the competing one is a vehicle shredder. you're still one shotting shit and the thing is clunky to use. this guy is fine for help on rares or the odd big mob

    94 Talador

Once you hit 94, hearth to your garrison and fly to talador. Abandon all gorkrond quests while flying there. i don't disband the SMV quests otherwise i get confused when i go back to my garrison.

At level 95, your BoA weapons should now be your best in slot.

    garrison ability:
    artillery strike - http://wod.wowhead.com/spell=162077
don't be fooled by the fact that it stuns. i didn't take it the first time around since i figured it did less damage than the one that didn't stun.

this still one shots everything, has 3 charges and has 30% the cooldown of the competing talent.

    skip
    there is a quest to kill kil'uun - http://wod.wowhead.com/npc=77430
make a macro to target him. he's in a pretty big field, but if you don't find him as you're crossing the area, fuck him - he's a pain in the ass to find - even when no one else is there.

caught in the chaos - http://wod.wowhead.com/quest=34406
terrible quest, you can only kill these mobs when they're harassing the miners, don't waste your time. i wouldn't even start the first breadcrumb for this shit.

i forget who gives it to you (it's one of the guys around auchindoun) - but they want to send you to jorune mine - don't do it.

    96 Spires of Arak
At 96 your garrison is willing to send you to ashran. Likely bugged to fuck on beta, but currently the xp return for the trip is pretty worthless.

Instead, go directly to the spires of Arak. Abandon all talador quests while flying over - otherwise your quest log will likely cap. Again, don't abandon SMV, otherwise your garrison looks like a new quest hub.

    garrison ability:
When you get the garrison option, take the brewery (+20% xp in the zone)
Teleport to Stoktron Brewery.Passive: XP gains increased by 20% in Spires of Arak. In the Uncategorized Spells category. Added in World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor.

    98 Nagrand
I think the flight to nagrand was bugged when i tried to take it, i ended up having to hoof it from shattrath. Once fixed i imagine you'll be able to fly there from yoru garrison (hearth at level 98)

Nagrand is the first area that i felt i needed food to get my health back up. This was for the arena waves. Non-Healing Heroes, make sure you buy max level food before you head to the arena.

Nagrand is the first area that you might find gear upgrades. they're marginal, so i wouldn't worry too much about ensuring you equip all upgrades. if you see it when you get it, put it on, if you don't realize it's in your bags, you're not losing much.

Make a macro to target BANTHAR, he's in a big field - easy enough to find once you mark him.

normally i don't loot anything, but in nagrand basically loot everything. you can turn 25 x hearty soup bone for 16k xp by the arena (repeatable - http://wod.wowhead.com/item=113578)

    garrison ability:

Garrison option in nagrand, I'm a huge fan of the corral - allows you to mount their talbuk in combat. Also if you use the talbuk mount, then use your water strider, you can then walk on water with your talbuk. (Doesn't work with sea turtle - blah).

basically you are mounted all the time, in combat, out of combat, during combat. you can even loot quest items while mounted.

there's a vehicle tank that competes with this. but it has a cooldown. the tank can be used in caves.
