Something I had a hunch about but wasn't too sure until I looked it up.
Followers with approriate (profession) traits can be assigned to the respective level 2 and 3 buildings in your garrison for extra bonuses, like stated in the traits section above. As a general bonus for level 100 followers, the follower will always double the yield from work orders (except for Lumber Mill) when a follower is assigned to a building. The chance to get double yield per work order is dependent on the follower level: 50% chance at follower level 90, 100% at level 100. Follower quality however doesn't affect to the bonus.
So make sure you level them crappy profession followers!
