Unlike gravelpit, we actually prepared for metalworks by scrimming, going over STVs as a team, and developed strats for pushes and holds. It’s a big map that really punishes failed pushes because the respawns are usually too far away from the fight, where a failed push into the last point ends up as a defensive hold of mid-point. This was difficult for us because we tend to bleed at least half of the team during these exchanges, which makes it almost impossible to contest any captures.

What can I say? 5-1. Omnis flashed his medic dm with two huge ubersaw kills, while the rest of the team was going for huge plays or putting up big frag numbers.
The next night we faced Zamboomacrew, the first half was rough for us with a couple of spy plays dropping Omnis as well as failed last pushes into an assortment of off-classes. Up to this point we hadn't dealt with much offclassing from other teams so we weren't entirely prepared for it, which left us down 3-1 at half. During halftime we thought about how to counter their “turtle” defense and decided it would be better to stop showing them any respect and force ourselves on them with all out aggression. Survived metalworks week with a nice 8-2 record. Next week is the classic cp_granary where we face our toughest match, Animus Victoria who are 8-1 at the time of writing this!
